We are happy to share our new publication in Telecommunications Policy on the Socioeconomic Benefits of highspeed Broadband, coauthored with Dr. Wolfgang Briglauer (WU Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien)) and Dr. Nicole Palan (Universität Graz): https://authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S0308-5961(24)00105-8
It offers a comprehensive survey on the empirical literature on the socioeconomic impacts of high-speed broadband, covering both mobile and fixed-line technology, on "classic" economic outcomes such as GDP, labor markets and productivity, but also on education, property prices and mental well-being. Finally, it also discusses the impact of broadband on economic resilience, such in times of crisis during the COVID pandemic.
